1850 – 1917 Mary F. Fent (Marshall)

Mary F. Fent, born March 5, 1850, at Mill Town, Crawford county, Indiana, was married to R. J. Fent, on December 25, 1866. To Mr. and Mrs. Fent were born ten children:

Otelia E Fent
William L Fent

Mary died September 4 1917, at 9:00 am.

SUDDEN DEATH OF MRS R. J. FENT
Mrs. R. J. Fent died Nov. 2nd at the soldiers Home where they had been living for the past two years.
Miss Mary F. Marshall was born March 5, 1850, at Mill Town, Crawford county, Indiana. She, with her parents, moved to Otumwa, Iowa, where she spent her girlhood days.

On Christmas day 1866, she was united in marriage to James R Fent.

In 1869 they came to Kansas settling first in Labette county. A few years later they moved to Chase county, where they lived nearly 25 years. From here they moved to Oklahoma where they lived only a few years when they moved to Baxter Springs where their home most of the time since.

To Mr. and Mrs. Fent were born ten children, of which five with their father are left to mourn her departure. They are Mrs. Cora Watcheous, Mrs. Otellia Creech and Charles of Basin, Wyo., Mr. W. L. Fent, of Pawnee and Mrs. Lillian Degraff of Joplin, Mo.

Mrs. Fent had been a member of the M. E. church since girlhood and remained a member until the time of her death.

Altho she had been in poor health for several years yet she was able to be around and had just returned a week or two ago from a visit with her son in Oklahoma.

They day previous to her death she seemed unusually well and had been out calling on her neighbors. That night about eleven o’clock she was taken sick and died the next day at nine.
