1829 — 1919 Esau Wilkes Creech

Esau Wilkes Creech, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Isaac Creech, was born in the State of Vir­ginia, Jan­u­ary 26, 1829.  He passed away sud­denly at the home of his grand­son, Gar­rett Creech, liv­ing near Cen­tral City, Nebraska, at 4:00 o’clock Sun­day after­noon, Novem­ber 23, 1919 at the unusual age of 90 years, 9 months and 28 days.  He had seemed to be in quite good health up to the time of his death and had been out in the yard on Sun­day after­noon, when the sum­mons came to him so suddenly.

After liv­ing for a time in Vir­ginia, he removed to Illi­nois where he was united in mar­riage to Eliz­a­beth Williams.  From Illi­nois they removed to Arkansas and from there to Kansas.  The last seven years of his life were spent near Cen­tral City, Nebraska.

His wife and some of his fam­ily pre­ceded him in death.  There remain to mourn his loss, three sons, Fred Creech of Saratoga, WY; Lee Creech, of Scott’s Bluffs, NE; and John Wes­ley Creech, recently of Basin, WY.; four grand­sons, Gar­rett, Grover, Aljron and Fay Creech of Cen­tral City.

Funeral ser­vices were con­ducted from the home of Gar­rett Creech on Tues­day after­noon, Novem­ber 25, by O.W. Car­rell, Pas­tor of the Friends Church of this city, and inter­ment was made in the Cen­tral City Cemetery.
